Storytelling with Data

Nowadays, data is ubiquitous, but do you know how to tell a compelling story with it? Do you know which visualization to use with particular data types? Do you know what color to pick and what principle to follow when creating a data visualization? If the answers are no, then this session is for you!

In this session, you will learn about key concepts with data and data visualizations. You’ll learn the basics of the principles, concepts, techniques of data, and visualizing data. At the end of the session, you will get a sense on how to utilize different tools to create a visualization.

Key topics include:

  • An overview of data and data types
  • An introduction to the principles, concepts, techniques, and tools for visualizing data
  • A demo of creating data visualizations in Tableau and Python
  • An overview of current WCA online modules
